By far the most expensive type of edging is limestone. The limestone edging we usually install is 6" x 3-4" x 4' and has 2 smooth sides and 2 rough sides. Installation is very difficult and time consuming because there are many cuts required to create a curve. Limestone edging has a natural feel and a neutral color. It will lose its natural color over time and can suffer from the freeze/thaw process. The color generally fades from a nice bright white to grey and sometimes can be stained by grass and plants. This usually adds to the natural beauty of the stone.
