	Our Quality Stock Miller Nursery stocks over 315 varieties of perennials, over 100 varieties of shrubs, 20 varieties of ornamental grasses, over 45 varieties of evergreens (including evergreen trees) and over 55 varieties of deciduous trees. If we don't carry a certain plant you want let us know. We have a large number of suppliers and we may be able to special order it for you!
	Our Perennials 95% of our perennials are grown right here at our nursery. We start with quality hardy bare root or plug plants and plant them in our own custom soil mix. After this they are moved to a poly house that is not heated. This allows the roots of the plants to get established well before the tops grow. When the outside temperatures get warm enough we then move the plants out to the sales area (usually around the beginning of May). This process yields a very hardy plant that can sometimes get to full size in the landscape by the end of the first year!
	Our Trees Miller Nursery takes pride in growing 90% of our container trees that we sell. This ensures that our customers receive the highest quality trees in the Des Moines area. We start with a northern grown bare root tree, prune for best shape and growth habit, pot the trees to the correct depth in our special soil-less mix, and grow them until the roots reach the outside of the container. This makes our trees more shapely, and they transplant with less stress, thus reducing losses. This means when you plant our trees and they are watered correctly you have the best chance for your new tree to live and thrive.
	Our Shrubs Our shrubs come from the best suppliers in the United States. We carry sizes ranging from #2 container all the way up to #10 container in some varieties. Shipments arrive every week to two weeks, allowing you to order exactly what you need if we don't have it in stock.
