Miller Nursery was founded in 1966 by Jack Miller. The company started out primarily as a landscaping company in Johnston, Iowa with some trees in the ground and plants grown in tin cans. Jack Miller retired and Pete Click took over as owner in the 80's and added 2 poly\shade houses and the other shade structures you see today. In 1995, Jim Poulson a long time employee of Miller Nursery took over as owner. From that time until now the nursery has undergone many changes. The layout of the shrubs and perennial areas changed several times, a new retail office area was built and in 2006 the entire perennial area was converted to a new watering system that produces better plants. In January of 2005 Miller Nursery was incorporated by the present owner Jim Poulson.

For the last 20 years we have featured a full service nursery along with quality landscape design and installation. Our nursery carries top quality nursery stock and we have many growers located right here in Iowa. Miller Nursery occupies 8 acres in the city of Johnston. Approximately 2 acres holds the bulk of the container shrubs and perennials and another 2 acres displays potted and balled and burlap trees. The remaining acreage has our buildings, parking lots and some field grown evergreens and deciduous trees.
